Synopsis: Kwame tells the story of a former Captain in the Ghanaian Army, who has been living in exile in Los Angeles for the past twenty years. Forced to flee to America after a Coup d'Etat. Kwame now works as a cab driver, living a reclusive life in a country that is not his own, harboring anger over the betrayal he feels at the hands of his native land, and haunted by a tragic event he blames himself for. Kwame begins to rediscover his compassion through his relationship with Roxanne, a drug addicted young woman who lives in his apartment building, struggling to come to terms with the death of her infant son,. This relationship offers both of these troubled souls hope and shows Kwame that he has been avoiding life for a long time as he questions whether or not it is time for him to head home to Ghana.
